Registering to vote can be done in the Office of the County Clerk during regular business hours, at the State of Illinois drivers license facilities during regular business hours, by a Deputy Registrar, or at public agencies. There can be no registration during the 28 day period preceding every election until the 2nd day following such election.
Voters who have not registered or updated their registration prior to the close of registration can come in during the Grace Period. Please see the link on the Election Information page called Grace Voting
Criteria
Voters shall, by the date of the next election:
- MUST be a US Citizen
- Have resided in the state, county and precinct for thirty days
- Must be eighteen years of age or over by the date of the next election
- Must not be convicted and currently incarcerated
- Must not claim the right to vote anywhere else
Identification & Address Change
All applicants must apply in person for registration furnishing two forms of identification. Any change of address and change of name must be registered with the County Clerk.
