The Mission of the Lee County Drug Court is to lower the effects of drug related crime and costs to the community, by assessing and directing individuals with substance abuse problems into the judicial supervision of treatment with a goal of developing substance free, productive citizens and thereby breaking the cycle of criminal recidivism
The Lee County Drug Court began November 1, 2005 as an effort by the Courts to offer intensive rehabilitation services to non-violent adult felons who have been identified by drug treatment professionals as having significant problems with drugs and/or alcohol. The Drug Court offers an array of comprehensive services including intensive treatment, random and frequent drug screens, intensive and enhanced supervision and active judicial intervention. These services act concurrently with sanctions for violations, and recognition and rewards for progress within the program. Success and compliance with the Drug Court relies solely upon the individual.
