Weed Control Enforcement

According to the Illinois Noxious Weed Law 505 ILCS 100 et seq., the County is the "Control Authority'' charged with the responsibility to represent all rural areas and cities, villages, and townships within the county boundaries in the enforcement of the Noxious Weed Law.  Lee County carries out the duties and responsibilities in accordance with the rules and regulations prescribed by the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Lee County annually appoints a Weed Control Superintendent to establish and maintain a coordinated program for the control and eradication of noxious weeds in the County.
